Doing the Purple Pants Dance

I recently blogged about Pantone's Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid. I said that I *probably* wouldn't incorporate it into my wardrobe. But, that was before I found a pair of purple pants that had since been hiding in the depths of my closet (Read: Narnia).

Now, I will be the first to tell you that purple pants sound like a hideous idea. The thought itself conjures images of a Barney-Jane Fonda leggings-grape-Care Bears-Lisa Frank cocktail.

WOOF.

To be honest, I'm not even sure how I ended up with these pants. However, I decided to give the color of the year a chance. After searching google for "Outfits with Purple Pants" (then immediately clearing my history in shame), I actually found some great inspiration. When paired with a graphic top and a statement necklace, purple pants don't suck. In fact, they become -- dare I say it?-- chic.
