No Turning Back.

New Year's Resolutions can be daunting. In the past, I've put pressure on myself to get in shape or have a perfect GPA, but haven't followed through in the least. I've found that it doesn't matter if it's a "new year" or mid-July, if you want to achieve a goal, you're going to have to do it on your own time and in your own way. So, this year, I've compiled a no-regrets bucket list. The difference between this and past years is that I'm making the choice to consciously do these things before 2014 is through.

1. Travel somewhere with my best friend. 2. Read more books. 3. Get healthier and stronger. 4. Run and complete a 5K. 5. Be fearless of the future. 6. Volunteer for a great cause. 7. Find a new hobby or passion. 8. Start writing my book. 9. Get a tattoo. 10. Love more, fight less. 11. Eat at Hot and Hot Fish Club.

Some items on this list may seem silly to you, but they're things that I've been wanting to do for a long time and have pushed aside. I've made every excuse in the book like "I work full time" or "I'm too busy", but at the end of the day part of me is left unfulfilled. I've compared my life to my friends who seem to be "making things happen", and this year, it's my turn. I'm prioritizing my health, happiness, and new adventures with my favorite people.

It's somewhat embarrassing putting this list online, because now I can't go back on any of it...even getting a first tattoo or running a 5K. These are two things I'm terrified of, but have wanted to do for a long time. If I have asthma and am vowing to run a race in front of the entire blogosphere, then you have no excuses either.

Your job as my readers, friends and family is to hold me accountable -- and maybe even join me in my pursuits! What are your goals, ambitions and resolutions for 2014? I'd love to know.

  1. I'm signing up for the Spartan Race. And wanting a tattoo. And this is the year I turn 21, I think it's safe to say, we're gonna have a good time.
